Venturer is currently in rudimentary pre-release testing releases to testers or to all who may be interested. Due to this, Venturer is currently not in a full functioning state when compared to other browsers. Releases occur in 2-3 month stages where features are progressively added, and is currently in the alpha stages of development. Each iteration of alpha/beta stages are followed by minor updates and continue on that trend unless major changes are present, which then a new major version is released. While Venturer is in the alpha release stage, it will run through approximately 5-6 alpha stages while the beta stages will run through 2-3 beta stages. The alpha stages of development are dubbed "Lunar" while other stages of development will be given other work titles. The final release of Venturer is set to be released in late 2016. |
You can access everything you need within the menu button from opening a new tab, opening a new file, accessing Venturer's settings, and everything else. Opposed to having a menu bar at the top taking up unneeded space, it's all located in one place. You can access all the social networking options and the plugins manager within the Options sub menu, and look at bug reports and submit them, and look for support for Venturer in the Help menu. |
If you click the address bar, the Quick Launch will appear directly underneath making it easier to access frequented pages, or pages that you predetermine. In the future, you will be able to set what Quick Sets you want pinned to the Quick Launch.
On the right side of the main top panel is the Social Network integration area. You can choose to turn this on or off if it isn't useful to you. Each icon representing it's respective network doubles as a mini version of the network, and a status icon so you can use any social network you want while browsing at the same time. If you want to simply open up the network's webpage in the browser, you click the Open button on the network's menu as shown. |
Unlike past versions of Venturer, you can now update Venturer instead of downloading a brand new installer. In Venturer Lunar 4, the application will automatically check for updates once a week. In future releases, you will be able to manually check for updates via the main menu within the Help sub-menu.
If your version of Venturer is not automatically updating, please report it here first, and then follow the instructions below. Updating Venturer: If you are having issues updating your version of Venturer, it may be due to a known bug that will be fixed in the next minor version, and you must uninstall your version of Venturer and install the new version. Welcome to the support section of Venturer specifically designed to helping users who are testing Venturer. Like most applications that are publicly released in alpha stage, many features are not present; many of such that are important to operation. You will notice that many menu items or buttons are not active, and cannot be used; these are features that are not currently present. This section of support is designed to provide workarounds to many of these features that are not present.
How do I clear the cache or cookies?
This can be done by removing the temporary files within the C:\ProgramData folder. To do this, navigate to the Local Disk found in Computer. When there, locate the folder Program Data. If you cannot find this folder, you may need to make hidden folders visible (you can do this by viewing this support article). Within the Program Data folder, you will find a folder called Portals OS Software. Open this folder, and open the Venturer folder, and then the Cache folder. Do not delete the Cache folder, but go inside the folder. If you have used Venturer, you will notice temporary files are being stored in this folder. You can select all of the files by using the Ctrl+A, and then delete the files by right clicking, and clicking Delete. How do I clear the cache/cookies from the Social Integration menus? You can do this by following the previous directions, except for the Cache folder, find the Social Network Cache, and empty the folders of the corresponding network. Popup Windows will not open when a webpage attempts to open a external link. How can I get to the location that the page is trying to send me? The link clicked that attempts to open a new window can be accessed by right clicking the link, and clicking Copy Link Location. Then, click the Main Menu, click New Tab, and Paste the link into the address bar. More issues will be addressed very soon. |
